Random Number Wheel: Spin to Pick a Number
Spin the random number wheel to pick one number from your range. Each number gets an equal slice. You press spin, and the wheel stops on the winner.
Your browser picks the number first, using a secure random tool. The spin is only the show. The result is already fair.
How to Use the Number Wheel
- Set your range. Choose the lowest and highest number you need.
- Check the slices. Every number has the same chance, whatever the size or color of its slice.
- Spin. The wheel slows down and lands on one number.
- Spin again or change the range. For a one-off pick, that is all you need.
Want a fixed range right away? Go to 1 to 10, 1 to 100, 1 to 6 or 1 to 4.
Number Picker: What Are the Odds?
On a wheel with N numbers, each spin has a 1 in N chance of landing on any one number. That is true on every spin, even after a streak.
| Range | One given number, one spin | That number at least once in 10 spins |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 10 | 10% | about 65% |
| 1 to 100 | 1% | about 10% |
Look at the first row. With 10 numbers and 10 spins, there is still about a 1 in 3 chance that a certain number never shows up. That is normal. It is not a problem with the wheel.
Number Randomizer: Repeats or No Repeats?
A number randomizer can work in two ways.
- With repeats. Each spin is separate, so the same number can come up twice in a row. Dice work this way.
- Without repeats. A number leaves the wheel after it wins, so nothing repeats until the wheel is empty. Raffles and "who goes next" draws work this way. Turn on elimination mode to do this.
If you want to see every number at least once, repeats will slow you down. On a 1 to 10 wheel it takes about 29 spins on average. On a 1 to 6 wheel it takes about 15. If every number must come up exactly once, use elimination mode.
Random Number Picker for Games, Class and Draws
A random number picker turns a number into a decision. Here are common uses.
Raffles and prize draws. Give out numbered tickets, then spin to pick the winning number. Say the rules out loud first.
Classrooms. Number your students. Spin to pick who answers, reads or presents.
Board games. Use it when a die is missing, or to pick the first player.
Bingo and number games. Call a number each round. For a full game, the bingo caller keeps track of what has been called.
Chores and tasks. Number the jobs and let the wheel decide who does which.
For names instead of numbers, try draw names. For a plain yes or no, the yes or no wheel is faster.
Wheel of Numbers vs a Number Generator
A number generator shows a result in a box. A wheel of numbers shows the choice happening. That matters when a group is watching and wants to see that nothing was hidden.
Use a generator for speed. Use the wheel when you want a result people can see and trust.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the random number wheel really random?
Yes. A secure random tool in your browser picks the number first. The wheel then lands on it.
What is a number wheel spinner?
It is a spinner where each slice is a number. You set the range, spin, and the number at the pointer is your result.
Is there a random number generator with no repeats?
Yes. Turn on elimination mode and it works as a random number generator with no repeats. Each winner is removed after the spin.
How do I stop numbers from repeating?
Turn on elimination mode in the Customize menu. Each winner is removed after the spin, so it cannot come up again.
Can I use a number picker wheel for a raffle?
Yes, you can use it to draw a winning ticket number. Raffle rules differ by place, so check your local rules first.
Is there a number wheel 1-10?
Is the random number wheel free? Does it work on a phone?
Yes to both. It is free, with no account, and the wheel fits phone screens.
